Mr. Qu Bochuan, a famous scholar and educator, was the principal founder of Dalian University of Technology，the president of Dalian University of Technology. He took up the post of honorary president of Dalian University of technology in 1981 and obtained the Award for the Highlighted Seniors from the State Educational Commission the same year.

Mr. Qian Lingxi, a distinguished expert in mechanics and a senior Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Mr. Zhang Dayu, a famous physical chemist and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was the founder of Dalian Chemical and Physical Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He attached importance to the elementary research and made outstanding contribution to the establishment and development of the four disciplines in the Institute.

Mr. He Guozhong, a chemist and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, has won the second and third prizes of State Natural Science Award, the second prize of the Significance Award from National Defence Committee of Science and the first prize of the Scientific Development Award from the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Mr. Zhong Wanxie, a specialist on mechanics engineering and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

He has been invited to give lectures at many universities in Switzerland, Thailand, Japan, U.S.A., Czechoslovakia，Singapore and Hongkong. Also, he is an advising professor for 25 other universities and institutes in China.
